VISITORS
WILL BENEFIT FROM RULE CHANGE IN NATIONAL PARKS
A
proposed National Park Service (NPS) regulation change will benefit
Americans by improving mountainbiking experiences in national parks. The
new policy would empower park superintendents to manage trails for
bicycles, without sacrificing environmental
review or public comment opportunities.
"Bicycling is a good fit for many national parks. It's a quiet,
low-impact, family-friendly activity that provides a great way to get
adults and kids excited about exploring America's most scenic places,"
says IMBA Executive Director Mike Van Abel. "We're very pleased that the
NPS intends to update its regulations to better serve visitors."

looks forward to an upcoming NPS announcement on ........

RED BULL RAMPAGE HIGHLIGHTS
2008
Red
Bull Rampage returns triumphantly after four years of silence. Although
a rain delay kept many anxious, the mountain bike gods unleashed the
glorious sun to scorch the barren Utah terrain.
More daredevil that athlete, Thomas Vanderham, stuck a no-hander over a
59-foot canyon gap and took home best trick. However, it was 17 year old
Brandon Semenuk that took home the prize of 10,000 dollars and bragging
rights.

27, Portland, Oregon info from the
ORBike Newsletter.
Enjoy a
beautiful autumn ride while helping a great cause. Tour de Builds is a
thirty mile urban ride that benefits Habitat for Humanity Affiliates of

Part of the finish line festivities will include a wall raising ceremony for
the new Portland home that is being constructed on site. You can register
online for a discounted rate until midnight this Thursday or you can
register on site on the day of the event. Proceeds support the Habitat for
